IMPORTANT NOTICE: Change of Venue for Weekday Sketchers Wednesday February 26th

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Weekday Sketchers will NOT be going to the Transit Museum    See below for new location.

Weekday Sketchers at Brooklyn Navy Yard

Public Spaces - Brooklyn Navy Yard
Entrance to Blg 77 on Flushing Ave

Join us this week as we explore this vibrant location on the East River, whose history dates back to before the Revolution.  Once the site of the horrific British Prison Ships during the Revolutionary War , this site has transitioned from the ship yard that amazingly built the vessels that won the Second World War to a decommissioned site of empty buildings and equipment.  Now in its present reincarnation, the Brooklyn Navy Yard is a vibrant hub of emergent businesses, movie studios, museums and retail food shops.

Come and explore the colorful food hall and the industrial landscape of ships, cranes and equipment that line its streets and alleys.
