The smartest thing I’ve done recently is to ask everyone for suggestions for new sketch locations.
Andrew Borloz found a winner.
I believe the ultimate goal is for NYC to have a continuous ring of parks so we can all enjoy island life along the river edge. As each section get’s completed a new sketching adventure is revealed. Here is what Andrew said about his discovery:
“The new East Midtown Greenway (AKA East River Esplanade) is fantastic for urban sketching. One gets beautiful views of the Roosevelt Island, Queens, and Brooklyn. Of special interest to me are the hexagonal tiles on the greenway that were inspired by Gaudi's panot tiles in Barcelona, and the city-lines of both Roosevelt Island and Queens across the East River. Highly recommended. “
