SATURDAY: Sketch the Rubin

The Rubin Museum is a NYC treasure and sadly it's closing soon.  This will be NYC Urban Sketchers last visit.

To make this visit even more special, the museum's favorite docent - Judy Garza is also a sketcher with our group.  She has conducted tours of the museum for years and has a deep understanding of the museum's collection.  She will be our tour guide and will join us sketching.

The Rubin Museum of Art is dedicated to the collection, display, and preservation of the art and cultures of the Himalayas, India and neighboring regions, with a permanent collection focused particularly on Tibetan art.  There really is no place like it. Each item on display tells a story, and was lovingly collected and beautifully displayed.

The Rubin Museum reminds us that artistic expression is part of what it means to be a human, a message that resonates for Urban Sketchers.

We have some special instructions regarding sketching at the Rubin and will have a brief meeting before we start.  If you come late, please find Mark or Judy before you begin sketching.
