Moving uptown, not quite above 14th Street yet, but a bit farther north than where we have been sketching is the beautiful Jefferson Market Library on 6th Avenue.  Newly renovated inside and still iconic outside, we will be sketching the building and the surrounding gardens this week.

For some history and background on this unusual building that was once a courthouse, a marketplace and a prison, click here: https://www.nypl.org/press/press-release/2008/03/01/history-jefferson-market-library

Looking for something else?  Then go around the corner to Patchin Place, the smallest street in NYC and sketch the quaint row houses nestled behind the entry gates.
