Weekday Sketchers at Lighthouse Museum on Wednesday

Bet you didn't know that there is a museum dedicated to lighthouses! ....Well there is and it is on Staten Island. Join us for an ocean voyage (the Staten Island Ferry) and museum trip.  Housed in an historic building that served as a quarantine hospital for immigrants before Ellis Island was opened, this museum is dedicated to the history and workings of the lighthouses on Staten Island.  For more information about the Lighthouse Museum and directions,  click here: http://lighthousemuseum.org

After lunch we will visit the Staten Island Borough Hall to view the acclaimed murals commemorating events in the history of Staten Island.  Additional sketching opportunity is available in the waiting room of the ferry terminal on the Staten Island side.  Two large salt water fish tanks have wonderful examples of the fish that swim in the NYC harbor. (Rumor has it that the tanks might be closed for repair.. TBD).
