The WHAM part of the day is in the afternoon. For a number of years NYC USk has been supporting the Draw-A-Thon at the High School of Art and Design. Some of our fellow sketchers are graduates. The fundraiser is a great way for the school to raise money while giving us a great way to sharpen our skills.
Poses vary from short sessions of five minutes, twenty minutes and one hour poses. Longer poses of three and six hours are also available. There will be a dedicated room for costume (heroic/cosplay) figure drawing and a separate room for nude/traditional figure drawing. The "WHAM" is for the models dressed as super characters. You get a discounted admission paying in advance. (link below)

Part 1 - Morning: BAM: Sketching Downtown Brooklyn
Part 2 - Afternoon: WHAM: The Draw-a-Thon at the High School of Art & Design
MORNING
WHERE and WHEN:
Part 1: Meet at the new Dick Blick store at - 41 Flatbush Avenue (near Fulton and Flatbush) At 10:00 AM
HOW:
- BY SUBWAY -
The 2, 3, 4, 5, Bm D, Q or R train to Atlantic Avenue / Barclays Center
LUNCH: 1:00 - In the streets while sketching. Bring your own or purchase from the many stores and vendors in the area. Meet back at the store at 1:30 for a brief Show & Tell.
AFTERNOON
WHERE and WHEN:
Part 2: Meet at the High School of Art and Design at 245 East 56th Street from 3:00 - 6:00 (Note - Pizza is served at 6 PM and they'll have a drawing for the door prizes.

NOTES:
- Bring a stool if you have one, it gives you more options
- Dress in layers, dress warmly for the outdoor part.
- You can be a Specialist - You're welcome to stay at the store all day, they have events planned. Or you can arrive at the HS at 10 AM and spend the day at the Draw-a-Thon. Your choice.
