SATURDAY - WWSC - Sketching the High Line

45th USK Sketchcrawl
October 18, 2014

For those that are not familiar with Sketchcrawl, it is an event that happens 4 times a year.
Sketchers from all over the world, sketch on the designated dates,
either alone, or in groups.
NYC Urban Sketchers post their work to our website.
We hope you'll join us.

After last weeks rain-out we're happy to re-announce

The final leg of the High Line has opened
and it is completely different than the previous sections.

The New Section of the High Line

t has wide open views of the Hudson and NJ.  It overlooks the rail yards, and has a great view up 11th Ave.  There are sketchable views looking down at construction sites filled with equipment and the  High Line has wonderful natural plantings and sculptures.  The new section has aisles that are broad so there is plenty of room to bring a chair.

DETAILS:
When:  We will begin at 10:00 AM.  Running late?  Come anyway, join us when you can.

Where:  We will  meet at the bleachers. (details below)

How:  by Subway - Take the A, C, E, 1, 2, or 3 train to Penn Station (34th St) and walk West on 34th St. There is a ramp entrance in the middle of the block, on the South side of 34th St between 11th Ave and West St.  When you come up the ramp and walk a short ways toward the river, you'll see the wooden bleachers where we will meet.

Lunch:  At 12:15 PM we will meet for lunch at the south east corner of 23rd and 10th at the NY Burger Co. There are plenty of non-meat items on the menu. The stairs to enter/exit the High Line at lunch time are at 29th/30th Streets, and also at 23rd St.

Afternoon:  At 1:15 PM it's back up to the High Line

For our Show and Tell:  We will meet at 4:00 PM to share sketches at Billy Marks West located at 332 Ninth Ave (29th St).
