Saturday - Sketching at Wall Street Atrium

Sketchers are Creative

At post time the weather for this coming Saturday says 60% chance of rain on the hottest day of the week.

The solution:  A flexible indoor sketching venue.
And, what a venue we've found!

The Wall Street Atrium

The Wall Street Atrium looks like a grand hotel ballroom from yesteryear with soaring vaulted
ceilings of silver tile, gigantic palm trees and lots of cafe tables and chairs.  Chess and backgammon players get there early to stake out their table. We'll be able to grab a bite at one of the two take-out eateries serving everything from hot meals to sushi to Ciao Bella gelato along side the requisite coffee and tea. The space is kind of cavernous and well used with a fair amount of seating. Extras: Free wi-fi and easy access to the 2/3 subway

The Financial Capital of the World

For a hot minute 60 Wall Street was the locus of Occupy Wall Street activity during the protest occupation of nearby Zuccotti Park.

It might have been because of the four fountains and sculptural water features, but most likely it was for the clean bathrooms. A little bit of Vegas inspired ceiling decor doesn't take away from the overall serene environment – thanks to the palm trees!

DETAILS:

When:  We meet Saturday September 6th at 10 AM.  Sleeping late?  Come when you can, - we'll be happy to see you.

Where:  60 Wall Street between William and Pearl Streets

How:  By Subway, the best bet is the  2 or 3 train which exits right into the building.  Or take the 4,5 A, C or J to Fulton and it's a short walk

What If:  What if it's a glorious day?  We'll meet at 60 Wall Street and take advantage of our good luck by sketching street scenes at the Financial Capital of the World.  What could be better?
