I took the day off on Friday and went to the 2014 Whitney Biennial. It was strange realizing it was probably the last time being in the old building before it closes. I was more excited trying to draw the people in the musuem than trying to interpret the artwork
On Saturday NYC Urban Sketchers went to see Gracie Mansion. It's in a lovely park on the upper east side. Seeing the Mansion itself however is not really possible. Through a clever arrangement of fences and landscaping the Mayor's house is practically invisible. When we went to eat I did this drawing of my fellow Urban Sketchers
When we finished the afternoon sketch we went for drinks and snacks at a nearby restaurant and I did these drawings.
On Sunday I did a couple of sketches of my neighborhood as I drove around. They're quick little thumbnails but fun to draw. I liked the one in the lower left hand corner.
I like your small thumbnail sketches of the Biennial, the park and assorted restaurants, and the ones of your neighborhood!
