Gracie Mansion and Carl Schurz Park


The last of the elegant country homes that once lined the East River, Gracie Mansion is the official home of the mayor of NYC.  It sits in Carl Schurz park, 15.2 acres beautifully designed  by Frederick Omstead.  It's considered NYC quietest park with beautiful views of the river and gorgeous landscaping.




When:  We meet at 10 AM
Where:  E 86th St & East End Ave
How:  The closest subway stop is at Lexington Avenue and East 86th street, along the 4, 5 and 6 lines. The #31 York Avenue bus stops at East 86th Street, one block away from the main entrance to the Park.
Price: Free.  The park has restrooms
Timing:  We'll break for lunch around noon and return at 1:30
